Campaign Update - February
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Last night, the Fulton County School Board voted to close Spalding Drive Elementary. This is a sad day for Sandy Springs. Our schools are the heart of our community, and their closure affects families, children, and the future of our city.
This is not just about one school—it’s about ensuring Sandy Springs has a strong, sustainable education system. I fought for nearly a decade to secure a new North Springs High School. I am now working on another critical initiative: passing legislation to allow Sandy Springs and other cities to establish their own school district. This game-changer would give cities more control over their schools and future.
We have gotten off to a great start in this campaign, and I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has already supported me—whether through donations, words of encouragement, or simply sharing my message with friends and neighbors. Your belief in new leadership for Sandy Springs fuels this campaign, and we are building something truly special together.
But we can’t stop now—momentum matters. Every conversation, every supporter, and every contribution brings us one step closer to ensuring that Sandy Springs has the leadership it deserves.
Why I’m Running
Running for Mayor of Sandy Springs is not a decision I made lightly. It is deeply personal, driven by my love for this city and my unwavering belief in its potential. This campaign is not about politics but service, leadership, and getting things done.
I have served you on the Sandy Springs City Council for nearly a decade. I have worked hard to improve our schools, fight for responsible growth, and ensure that our city government works for the people—not for itself. I have always believed in action over rhetoric and rolling up my sleeves to tackle challenges head-on.
Now, I am ready to lead Sandy Springs into the future.
A Deep Appreciation for Where We’ve Been
Let me be clear: I respect Mayor Rusty Paul and all he has done for our city. His leadership helped shape Sandy Springs, and I am grateful for his years of service.
But leadership is also about knowing when to pass the torch. Rusty said he wasn’t going to run again in 2017. He said the same in 2021. Now, in 2025, we find ourselves at another crossroads.
There is a reason we believe in term limits. Fresh leadership, new ideas, and renewed energy ensure Sandy Springs remains a city of innovation and progress. Leadership should never be about maintaining the status quo—it should be about advancing the best ideas and making them a reality.
My Vision for Sandy Springs
Sandy Springs is at a turning point. We must make smart decisions now to ensure a strong future. That means:
Keeping Public Safety Strong – Supporting our police, fire, and first responders with the necessary resources to keep our city safe.
Fighting for Schools and Families – Pushing for stronger schools and creating opportunities for young families to build their future here.
Fiscally Conservative Leadership – Making sure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely and efficiently, without unnecessary bureaucracy.
Smart Growth, Not Overdevelopment – Encouraging responsible, sustainable development that enhances our community without overcrowding or straining resources.
A Mayor Who Listens – Ensuring that city leadership is open, accessible, and responsive to the people we serve.
These are not just ideas. These are my priorities. And if elected mayor, I will fight for them every single day.
A City That Works for the People
Our local government exists to serve the people, not bureaucrats, developers, or special interests. Sandy Springs belongs to us—the families, the business owners, the neighbors who care about its future.
I ask for your support if you believe in new leadership, a fresh perspective, and a mayor who will work tirelessly for you.
Together, we can build on what’s worked, fix what hasn’t, and take Sandy Springs to the next level.
Please join me on this journey.
